Petplan's Pet Business Scheme

As a pet-related business participating in Petplan's Pet Business Scheme you agree to the following Terms and Conditions as a member of the Scheme:

  1. The Scheme is only open to bona fide pet businesses which are registered members of the Scheme. Registration is at the sole discretion of Petplan which may refuse to accept anyone as a member of the Scheme at its absolute discretion.

  2. You must be resident in the UK and aged 18 years or over. You will be entitled to one membership into the Scheme.

  3. Businesses who sell dogs or cats are not eligible to register for the Scheme. Any member who does engage in such selling activities shall be excluded from the Scheme. For the avoidance of doubt, this does not apply to the sale of rabbits or other small pets which is permitted under the terms of membership to the Scheme.

  4. You will use only the promotional materials provided by Petplan and will not vary or alter such material.

  5. You will conduct your business at all times in accordance with good industry practice in a way that will not risk damage to Petplan's brand, reputation or goodwill. You will only promote the benefits of pet insurance in general and not specifically recommend Petplan or any other pet insurance product. The member confirms that they, or any business they are associated with, are not subject to any investigation by any local authority, trading standards or other regulatory body. Petplan reserves the right to exclude any member which Petplan discovers is, or was at the time of entering the Scheme, subject to such an investigation and may seek to recover any commission paid to the member in connection with this breach of the Scheme.

  6. Commission will be awarded subject to the following:
    1. 10% of the premium will be paid by way of commission when a customer takes out a full policy and the policy is attributed to your Petplan reference number. This includes customers who convert their 4 weeks' free policy to a full policy.
    2. Commission will be paid monthly and a commission statement and cheque will be sent to the contact name and address provided upon registration to the Scheme.

  7. You must keep Petplan informed of any changes to your contact details. Petplan will not be responsible for any loss of commission incurred as a result of out of date details.

  8. Membership accounts with out of date details that have not been updated may be removed and any commission forfeited.

  9. Either party is free to terminate this agreement at its absolute discretion by immediate notice in writing or by email to the other party.

  10. Petplan will give three months' notice in writing or by email to each member in the event of termination of the Scheme.

  11. Petplan may decline to award commission and/or remove a member from the Scheme at any time where Petplan has reasonable belief to suspect any breach or attempted breach of the Scheme. Petplan continually monitors claims made on 4 weeks' free cover policies and reserves the right to remove any member business from the Scheme if in Petplan's absolute discretion, they feel that there are consistently high levels of claims arising from cover issued by the participating member.

  12. In the event of termination for whatever reason you will not be awarded any future commission and you agree to destroy all Petplan promotional materials you may hold.

  13. The promoter of the Scheme is Pet Plan Limited whose registered office is at 57 Ladymead, Guildford, Surrey GU1 1DB and whose principal place of business is at Great West House (GW2), Great West Road, Brentford, Middlesex TW8 9DX.
